the STAND

The Stand began in 2005 when owner Jayne Van Acker noticed a substantial lack of local produce selections in our grocery stores. Coming from a farming community, and living on a farm herself, Jayne had extensive knowledge of the high quality produce grown locally that wasn't available for Ontario consumers. She knew that something had to be done so the people of the community that she loves could reap the benefits of what our local farmers had to offer. Thus came The Stand. In a quaint green barn in the heart of downtown Burford, Jayne bridged the gap between farmer and consumer so that produce is always 100% local, 100% fresh and truly, from farm to table.

Visit The Stand seasonally from June to October. Produce is picked up fresh daily. Only at The Stand can you take home strawberries for lunch that were picked that morning! Here at The Stand, food miles matter. We can tell you the exact distance your produce has travelled. We have lots to offer aside from produce;  fresh cut flowers, locally made pastas & jams, Uncle Bob's local popping corn, gift baskets and more! Take the trip out to Burford to visit us, we promise you'll come back for seconds!
